🇷🇴🇺🇸 Through the campaign “Wherever we are, we speak the same language” young people from around the world were invited to share Romanian words that hold a special meaning for them — words that connect generations, memories, and identities.
Among those who joined this beautiful initiative were Alessandra, Kate, Nicole, and Parker — four ASU students currently learning Romanian and discovering, through language, an entire world of culture, history, traditions, and human warmth.
For them, Romanian is becoming far more than a language studied in a classroom. It is a bridge toward understanding Romania, its people, and the spirit behind its words. Every expression learned opens a new window into a culture that continues to inspire curiosity, friendship, and genuine connection.
Their participation is both moving and meaningful — a reminder that language has the extraordinary power to bring people, cultures, and hearts closer together across continents.
Thank you, Alessandra, Kate, Nicole, Parker, and Professor Orlich for embracing the beauty of the Romanian language and for helping carry it further into the world. ❤️🇷🇴

🇷🇴✨ Fifty years ago, a young girl from Romania changed the history of sports forever.
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Nadia Comăneci achieved what the world believed impossible: the first perfect 10 in Olympic gymnastics history. In that moment, the scoreboard itself was unprepared for perfection. But Romania was not. Romania had given the world a legend.
On the 50th anniversary of her historic achievement, the President of Romania awarded Nadia Comăneci the National Order “Star of Romania” in the rank of Grand Cross — the highest distinction ever bestowed by the Romanian state upon a sports figure. A tribute not only to a champion, but to a woman who carried Romania’s name with dignity, elegance, and pride across generations.
In an age obsessed with shortcuts and instant success, Nadia’s story reminds us that greatness is never accidental. It is built quietly — through perseverance, courage, humility, and years of unseen effort.
And perhaps that is why, fifty years later, the world still remembers not only the perfect score… but the perfect example.
Congratulations, Nadia Comăneci. Thank you for continuing to carry Romania with elegance, dignity, and pride. 🇷🇴❤️

🇷🇴 Romanian Civilians Injured After Russian Drone Hits Residential Area
A Russian Geran-2 drone struck a residential building on Romanian territory, injuring two Romanian citizens. The responsibility is unequivocal and belongs entirely to Russia — a state that continues its aggression against Ukraine with growing disregard for civilian lives and regional stability.
The attack took place in Galați, a Romanian city located just a few kilometers from the Ukrainian border, approximately 125 km from the Mihail Kogălniceanu NATO air base and roughly 250 km from Bucharest. The consequences of Russia’s war are no longer confined within Ukraine’s borders — Romanian civilians on NATO and EU territory were directly affected.
Romania responded firmly: the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Constanța was declared persona non grata, and the Russian Consulate in Constanța will be closed.
NATO and European Union partners firmly condemned Russia’s actions, reaffirming the importance of Euro-Atlantic unity, regional security, and the defense of allied territory.
No Romanian citizen should ever live under the shadow of conflict crossing our borders. Romania remains vigilant, prepared, and unwavering in the defense of its people, its territory, and its democratic values. 🇷🇴

🇷🇴🇺🇸 As the United States marks the America250 anniversary this year, a remarkable historical connection between Romania and the founding story of America is being brought back into the spotlight.
A rare engraved copy of the United States Declaration of Independence — considered unique in Romania — is now on display at the Teleki-Bolyai Library in Târgu Mureș.
More than a historic document, the Declaration remains one of the most powerful symbols of freedom, democracy, and the universal aspiration for liberty. Its presence in Romania is also a reminder of the deep intellectual and cultural ties that have connected Europe and America across centuries.
At a moment when the United States celebrates 250 years since its founding, this extraordinary exhibit offers a powerful reflection on the enduring values that continue to unite democratic societies on both sides of the Atlantic. 🇷🇴🤝🇺🇸

🇷🇴🌊 The Black Sea is rapidly becoming a proving ground for the future of defense technology — and Romania is right at the center of it.
Military personnel and experts from Romania, Bulgaria, Canada, Portugal, the United States, and Türkiye gathered in Constanța for OPEx, an international exercise focused on autonomous and unmanned systems operating in the Black Sea. From aerial drones to autonomous maritime technologies, the exercise showcased how innovation, interoperability, and emerging technologies are reshaping modern security and defense.
For Romania, hosting such an exercise is more than a military event — it reflects the country’s growing strategic role on NATO’s Eastern Flank and its increasing involvement in next-generation defense capabilities.
🇷🇴 $107,6 Million Later, Brâncuși Still Belongs to Eternity
“Danaïde”, one of the great Romanian sculptor’s most refined and poetic works, was sold at Christie’s for an extraordinary $107,6 million — a powerful reminder that Brâncuși remains one of the defining artists of modernity and one of Romania’s greatest cultural legacies.
The sculpture was sublimely introduced to the world by Nicole Kidman in Christie’s campaign dedicated to the masterpiece — an elegant encounter between timeless art and timeless grace.
Minimal yet profound, Brâncuși’s work continues to transcend generations, borders, and artistic movements. More than a sculpture, “Danaïde” is a meditation on form, fluidity, and eternity — the kind of art that does not simply survive time, but shapes it.
More than a century later, Brâncuși still reminds the world that true genius speaks quietly — yet echoes forever. 🇷🇴

Romania shines once again at Cannes. 🇷🇴✨
Cristian Mungiu has won the prestigious Palme d’Or for FJORD — a film already making waves on the international stage and proving, once again, the extraordinary power of Romanian cinema. 🎬
And the recognition doesn’t stop there.
FJORD received already another FOUR major distinctions at Cannes:
🏆 François Chalais Prize
🏆 Citizenship Award (Prix de la Citoyenneté)
🏆 Ecumenical Jury Prize
🏆 FIPRESCI Prize (International Critics’ Prize)
Years after redefining modern cinema with 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, Mungiu returns with a story that is raw, haunting, and deeply human — the kind of film that doesn’t just entertain, but stays with you long after the credits roll.
Cannes doesn’t celebrate spectacle alone. It celebrates courage, truth, humanity, and stories that matter.
A historic achievement for Romanian cinema. A moment the world is paying attention to. 👏🇷🇴
