We have some amazing things happening at Petworth!

Kindergarten is currently in its 5 Senses Unit! What better way to experience the five senses than with a trip to the garden! ❤️ We had a great time at the Girard Children’s Community Garden.

Students were able to listen to what they heard in the garden, see, feel, and even taste different plants, vegetables and spices! They got to taste a mint leaf!!🙃🥬🧅🌻🌺

Here are a few announcements as this new month is bringing many exciting events. Please save the dates below because we would LOVE to see you all at all of the upcoming events.

Wednesday, October 5th(for students ONLY and during the school day)- Our 1st Positive Behavior Incentive for the school year. Congrats to all students who had an 80% or higher in their Dojo percentage.

Friday, October 7th- There is no school for students. It is a Teacher Professional Development work day.

Friday, October 14th- It is our Hispanic Heritage Month Gallery Walk! Our students have been working hard learning and celebrating a country their class was assigned during this Hispanic Heritage Month. Please join us at DISMISSAL to see their class banners.

Monday, October 31st- Petworth Fall Festival 4-6 pm. There will be games, music, a contest, and a Trunk or Treat. As admission into the Fall Festival, each student is asked to bring a bag of candy. We are collecting the candy through Wednesday, October 26th. Please give the candy to their homeroom teacher and LABEL it with your student’s name. More details will be coming about this day, but we are so excited to have a great time with you all!!

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, each grade was assigned a country to learn about and celebrate throughout the month; fifth grade is studying Panama! Last week, students spent time coloring the flag of Panama and learning some facts about our class country in homeroom. Over the rest of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will continue learning about Panama and create a banner displaying facts, images, and information to share with families and students at the end of the month.
Ask your student: what does the flag of Panama look like? What have you learned about Panama?

Climbing to new heights! 🧗🏽‍♀️🧗🏾Yesterday, our 8th graders showed perseverance, grit, and determination as they took on all the tasks and challenges threw at them.

What time is it? Art Time!! Look at Kindergarten’s 1st projects. Their Romero Britto Puppies 🐶 are just too cute!
