AABE 2020 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Through the work of various members of the AABE National Scholarship Committee, Chapter Presidents, Regional Directors, local Scholarship Committees and many AABE volunteers nationwide, the AABE Scholarship Program is advertised and applications are solicited from eligible candidates nation-wide. AABE local chapters review the applications received and select local scholarship winners, from which the top-ranked candidates are forwarded to the National Scholarship Committee for consideration of regional and national awards.

Hands-On Learning for Future Blue Economy Leaders Link Arrow

NREL and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office have just launched the Marine Energy Collegiate Competition: Powering the Blue Economy to inspire student teams to innovate next-generation marine energy solutions. The competition provides structure and support for college and university programs to explore concepts related to desalination, aquaculture, and ocean observation market applications.

Culminating at the International Conference on Ocean Energy, which will be held in Washington D.C. in May 2020, the Marine Energy Collegiate Competition will showcase team pitches and design concepts while presenting networking and career development opportunities. Learn more about the competition on the upcoming informational webinar, scheduled for August 29 at 12pm ET.

Selected individuals will embark on a fully funded 12-week internship experience to Washington, D.C., where you will:
• Learn first-hand about our nation’s legislative process.
• Serve in a congressional office that is working on important policy issues.
• Receive weekly leadership training from CHCI where you will meet with influential leaders and enjoy professional development opportunities.
Focus Area: All Majors
Location: Washington, D.C.
Dates of Participation: January 27 - April 17, 2020 (12 weeks)
