Congratulations to our winners that were drawn at 12 noon today. Our 1st place prize with the Bad Boy 60" Zero Turn Mower winner was Pam at Buddy's Garage, 2nd place prize of the 54" Flat screen LED TV went to Jim Michard, 3rd place prize a 65 Qt RTIC cooler went to Timmy Perry, and 4th place prize of $200 gift card went to Keith Kidwell. Thank everyone for helping us with a very successful fundraiser! We also would like to thank Wayne Howell at A&W Sales, Pinetown, NC for his contributions to us on the Bad Boy Mower. Give them a shout if in the market for one. We also would like to thank Chris Norris - Thomson TV & Radio Shack, Washington, NC for their donation on the Flat screen TV. Give him a shout if you're looking a TV. Thanks to each of you that helped us by buying tickets. It cannot be successful without each of you!!!

Please do not burn anything outside until further notice of improved conditions. Pitt County has also banned burning in conjuction with this ban from NC Forestry

Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28 until further notice.

Under North Carolina law, the ban prohibits all open burning in the affected counties, regardless of whether a permit was previously issued. The issuance of any new permits has also been suspended until the ban is lifted. Anyone violating the burn ban faces a $100 fine plus $183 court costs. Any person responsible for setting a fire may be liable for any expenses related to extinguishing the fire.

The burn ban does not apply to fires started within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling. The local fire marshal has authority to issue a burn ban within those 100 feet.

The State has issued a burning ban effective at 6 PM today. Extremely dry conditions make it very dangerous to have open burning 🔥! All burning permits are being canceled!!!!
