First annual LeMay Family Training Foundation ALS competition in the books.
We had 11 teams, over 100 people and were able to give away 6000$ in three 2000$ scholarships.
Teams had to take an incredibly difficult written exam which included testable knowledge from medic through officer level questions. Sponsored by THEFIREFIGHTERMEDIC
The fire ground skills
Portion Sponsored by Ricochet Manufacturing and Fullhouse Construction
Involved packaging and dragging a 200 pound victim, pulling a charged hose line 150 feet and forcing a door.
Then performing in a chaotic golf cart crash during school drop off. A homeless camp that had teams diving through tent mazes and an ALF having Zumba class from hell
EEI student team absolutely crushed the competition, as students, (some have never been to fire school) still highly competitive in every aspect of the comp.
We were able to give away a street smart hat thanks to THEFIREFIGHTERMEDIC who designed the written testing component.
We gave a custom, first in metal door wedge to Mirimar for their fastest fire ground skills time thanks to Chris Byrd
We donated 2000$ to Nate Plana for EMT school in honor of Carna Bunker Gear who also brought out safe fire training gear for competitors to wear.
We donated 2000$ to Cayla D'Achille for fire school in honor of Firefighter Certs • Ricky Rescue Training Academy who’s been a repeat supporter of the charity and the Davie ALS team.
We donated 2000$ to Brandon for paramedic school In honor of the The Salty Rookie, LLC , a great friend and amazing supporter of the charity since day 1.
Chris Byrd donated all of the trophies presented to the teams and has always helped the charity run raffles and make amazing custom engravings.
For the overall results:
Third place was The OG Rac City, Tamarac A.
Second: Margate who also won leather card holders from an incredible supporter of the charity statpack
First place: Winner of brand new STATPACKS sling bags was Tamarac B.
Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, competitors, my department for allowing us to host this competition and supplying us with equipment and most importantly my team, who without them none of this would have came to life.
