🏴‍☠️ We've got a for today with a little bit of pirate history!

A few months ago, we welcomed Robert Jacob to Bite of History with 'Blackbeard: The True Story of the World's Most Famous Pirate', delving beyond the myths and revealing the truth of who Edward Teach really was.

And what better time to revisit that memory? 309 years ago today, on October 22nd, 1717, Blackbeard's crew plundered two merchant vessels in Delaware Bay. Three centuries later, Blackbeard's life and legacy continues to captivate Eastern NC and the world beyond.

The stuffies had a sleepover, and let's just say they did NOT go to bed early! 🧸🌙

Our Night at the Museum Stuffy Sleepover at our annex, Washington's Museum of the Pamlico, was full of mischief and memories! Between shelf-scaling adventures, family history investigations, and a cozy story time, these little troublemakers kept the museum buzzing all night long.

And of course, we captured the evidence for their families to enjoy! 📸 All our stuffy participants went home with pictures of their top-secret nighttime adventures.

To our Friends group, thank you from all of us here at the library for the time you dedicate and everything you do for us. Our library wouldn't be what it is without you. 🫶
