Mount Washington Tavern on the old National Road in Fayette County, photographed for the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1933, when it housed the Fort Necessity museum. Built around 1835, it overlooks the Great Meadows, where a young George Washington surrendered Fort Necessity on July 3, 1754.
