We are so proud!
When people call 911, they don't think about protocols or software. They simply need help.
This week, Black Hawk Consolidated Communications Center went live with EMD ProQA. Just two days after going live, Dispatcher Kyle Hansen answered a call initially reported as chest pain. Through structured questioning, Kyle identified that the patient was actually in cardiac arrest and immediately began providing CPR instructions to the caller.
Kyle continued to provide CPR instructions for approximately seven minutes until EMS arrived on scene. The patient was later stabilized at the hospital and prepared for transfer to a higher level of care.
There's no better way to demonstrate the value of a well-supported dispatch process than when it helps uncover a critical situation and connects callers to potentially lifesaving instructions.
Congratulations to Kyle and the entire Black Hawk team on their successful ProQA go-live!
