It’s a beautiful day for a 5k - even if you are not running join as at 11:00 for some family fun!

Founders’ Day Festival starts at 11:00 a.m. Saturday! Come a little early to park on the grass between the pavilion on Central Avenue and Sparta Pike.

Start at the pavilion for the fish fry (only $5 and kids under 10 eat free), four interactive inflatables, and the dunking booth. The 3-legged race begins at 11:30 a.m. for kids and adults. After that is the 2-person relay...we heard something about an egg and a spoon, you'll have to be there to find out.

You can stick around the pavilion or head into town for live music with "The Watertown Opry" with Glenn Carpenter and the cake walk with Donna the "Cake Walk Lady" at the gazebo around noon. While you’re there, explore the open shops and join the scavenger hunt! Pick up your first clue at the Atwood House on the town square, where you’ll also find public restrooms. Follow the clues to historic buildings and shops for a chance to win prizes.

The scavenger hunt runs until 2:30 p.m. Stick around and shop or head back to the pavilion for prizes and the water balloon toss. We’ll see you in Watertown!

Ready for Historic Watertown's Inaugural Founders' Day 5K/1Mile Family Fun Run/Walk?

Whether you’re participating, cheering everyone on, or coming to help, join us Saturday, September 26, at Main Street and Central Avenue in Watertown. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., when registered participants can pick up their bibs and shirts. The 5K starts at 8:00 a.m.

And take a look at those finisher medals! Participants can pick them up after the run at the pavilion at Central Avenue and Sparta Pike. That’s also where we’ll kick off the festival portion of the day. We can’t wait to see you there!

Shirts and medals by our very own Visionary Design Group -- Dogoone Good Design Since 1999! They also designed the event logos/graphics, printed the posters, signs and banners and manage the social media for the event. Be sure to hit them up if you need cool stuff like this.
