💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Last night, I had the opportunity to join the Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County, Inc. as they kicked off the month and to present a proclamation recognizing the important work being done to support victims and survivors of domestic violence in our community.

Thank you to the VAC for the work you do every day to provide support, resources and a safe place for those who need it. And thank you to everyone working in this field — including our law enforcement partners — who continue to help protect victims, hold offenders accountable and raise awareness.

Domestic violence can affect anyone, and no one should have to face it alone. This month is an important reminder that help is available and that our community has a role to play in supporting those who need it.
