“Jenn and I came into our respective roles in the Clerk’s Office at the same time. We both put our names in to be appointed as Clerk in 2021 and thank goodness, Jenn was selected. She took the time to invite me to dinner so we could align our goals and visions for the office to show up as a united front. Not many leaders would have done the same and for that, and many other reasons, I am honored to work alongside Jenn as her Chief.

Jenn hit the ground running, soaking up as much information as possible. Even today, Jenn will not claim that she is a master of all knowledge. She is always willing to learn something new and is open to suggestions, from both staff and the public. I believe this attribute is what contributes to her being such a great fit for the role.

Jenn has consistently been an advocate for the Deputy Clerks as well as the residents of Douglas County. She fought for better pay and has been open to modifying work hours, where possible, to help the work-life balance we all struggle with. Jenn has been working towards opening an East Wenatchee detachment to expand access for the public as well as reduce commute times for some employees that will hopefully have a positive impact on retention. Furthermore, Jenn continually fights at the state level as the Washington State Association of County Clerk’s President for your document security and taxpayer dollars.

Jenn is respected amongst her peers and is the best person to represent Douglas County as Clerk. I hope you join me in voting to retain Jenn Biggar as Douglas County Clerk.”

Mackenzie contributes a wealth of knowledge to the Clerk’s Office, she truly knows our systems inside and out. Douglas County is lucky to have her and I’m proud to have her serving by my side!

Last night Mya and I attended the Wenatchee Humane Society Gala. From holding a baby puppy, to being the highest bidder on a basket… Mya was in her element along with all the other animal lovers in the room. What a great evening spent raising money for our local shelter! 🐶

Last week took me to Seattle for a meeting regarding GR 34, the rule that authorizes civil fee waivers for certain individuals. Along with Supreme Court Justices, attorneys, civil legal aid groups, judges and more, we worked towards a united understanding of the rule and how it’s applied in our courts.

Representing the Clerk’s Association at a meeting like this is an honor, but Douglas County having a seat at the table is even more exciting for me. Being able to advocate for our processes and funding at a state wide level brings real results to our small county.
