🚒 Training Night in Waukon 🚒

Members of the Waukon Fire Department spent the evening sharpening critical firefighting skills through hands-on training focused on pumper operations, tanker operations, water supply, hydrant connections, drafting, and apparatus driving.

Training like this ensures our firefighters remain prepared to respond safely and effectively when our community calls. Crews practiced establishing water supply, operating pumps, moving water efficiently, and gaining valuable experience behind the wheel of our apparatus.

Regular training is essential for maintaining readiness, building teamwork, and ensuring every member is confident in their role during emergencies.

Thank you to all of our firefighters who dedicated their evening to training and continuing their commitment to protecting the Waukon area.

Thank you, National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS), for bringing this training to the Waukon Fire Department.

Tonight, the Waukon Fire and Waukon EMS Association trained in confined-space manure-pit rescue using a hands-on simulator. Crews practiced scenarios, air monitoring, SCBA use, and victim rescue in low-oxygen environments.
This training strengthens how we respond and helps keep our community safe.

That’s a combined 100 years of service protecting lives, property, and neighbors in Waukon. These years represent countless calls answered, long nights, hard work, and a deep commitment to serving others.
