Pumps = trash Bottles = recycling

Pumps = trash
Bottles = recycling

A quick note on containers with pumps (e.g. lotion/bodywash/shampoo/etc.)

Standard plastic containers which utilize a pump mechanism are incredibly common in stores. Those pumps normally combine metal springs/mixed plastics, and that combination creates a product that sorting machinery can’t separate at recycling centers.

Prior to placing the plastic container in your recycling bin, please remove the pump for future reuse or place the pump in the trash. Thank you for helping to keep our materials as free of contaminants as possible!

Aluminum is infinitely recyclable ♻️ That means it can be recycled over and over again without losing its quality!

But there’s a catch… it can’t be recycled if it ends up in the landfill. 😱

Don’t let valuable resources go to waste! Keep aluminum cans out of the trash and put them in the recycling bin instead.

Did you know that food waste and scraps account for 20% of Wisconsin’s landfill waste by weight according to a recent study by the Wisconsin DNR?

The study estimated that more than three-quarters of this food could have been consumed by people. That translates into money being wasted by Wisconsin households buying too much food, then discarding it.

Try to buy only the groceries you need (to save money and put less into landfills)- you can also compost your waste as an alternative!
