đź’™ WHAT IS AN SSA? AND WHAT DOES THE SSA DEPARTMENT DO? đź’™
At the Pike County Board of Developmental Disabilities, our Service and Support Administrators (SSAs) play an important role in helping individuals with developmental disabilities live meaningful, fulfilling lives in their communities.
But what exactly does an SSA do? 🤔
An SSA is a partner, advocate, and guide who helps individuals and families navigate services and supports while keeping the person’s needs, choices, and goals at the center of every decision.
đź’™ Building Relationships
SSAs get to know the individuals they support, listen to their hopes and concerns, and help them work toward the things that matter most to them.
đź“‹ Creating Individual Service Plans
SSAs work with individuals, families, and support teams to develop an Individual Service Plan (ISP). This plan outlines personal goals and the services and supports that can help each person succeed.
🤝 Connecting People With Services
From coordinating supports to helping individuals explore service providers and community resources, SSAs help people understand their options and make informed choices.
🌟 Monitoring Progress and Well-Being
SSAs follow up to help ensure services are meeting the individual’s needs, address concerns, and adjust supports when circumstances change.
🏡 Promoting Independence and Community Inclusion
Every person deserves opportunities to learn, grow, build relationships, make choices, and participate in their community. SSAs help individuals work toward greater independence and a life that reflects their own interests and goals.
At the heart of Service and Support Administration is the person. Every individual has unique strengths, dreams, preferences, and abilities. The SSA department works alongside individuals, families, providers, and community partners to help turn goals into opportunities.
💙 An SSA is more than a connection to services. It’s a connection to possibilities, choice, and a community where everyone belongs.
