Physical abuse may be the most commonly recognized form of domestic violence because it can leave visible bruises and scars, but not all abuse leaves marks you can see.

Emotional abuse is just as important to recognize. It can slowly tear down a person's confidence, self-worth, and sense of security. Through constant criticism, manipulation, humiliation, and threats, emotional abuse can leave lasting scars that aren't visible on the outside.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we want to remind our community that abuse does not have to be physical to be harmful. Everyone deserves to feel loved, respected, valued, and safe in their relationships.

At Magnolia House, we believe every survivor deserves to be heard, supported, and reminded that their feelings and experiences matter. 💜💜
