The Wayland Council on Aging provides a wide range of programs and services designed to engage, enlighten and support maturing adults.

The Wayland Council on Aging offers a constantly expanding array of programs and services to meet the needs of older adults and their families. Information and Assistance: Contact the COA if you need information about resources and services for older adults, including housing, transportation, health care, home care, safety, fuel assistance, legal questions, and other concerns. Health and Wellness: We offer services including home-delivered meals (Meals on Wheels), fitness classes, medical equipment loans, and free blood pressure checks. Learning, Exploring, Connecting: The COA presents educational presentations and classes; trips and travel; social and interest groups; monthly and special luncheons; and special events throughout the year. Transportation: If you need help getting where you're going, call us for information about medical taxi vouchers, MWRTA Dial-a-Ride,and FISH volunteers who offer rides to medical appointments for Wayland residents with no way to get to the doctor. Other Services: Our volunteers offer small in-home fix-it services, as well as friendly calls or visits. Let us know about your needs.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 follows an older Andy Sachs hired as the new features editor for a digitalized Runway. She must help Miranda Priestly navigate a declining print-to-digital media landscape, corporate profit threats, and an ad-space power play from her former colleague Emily, now a high-powered executive at Dior. Make sure you're ready for the first flurries and ice this winter! The Wayland Firefighters Association is happy to provide free buckets of sand or salt/sand mixture to Wayland seniors this winter. Give the COA a call at 508-358-2990 to request your bucket. All deliveries will happen the week of Thanksgiving.

Join us this month for something a little different - a Jewelry Yankee Swap! No need to bring anything; we'll have a variety of pieces that have been made or donated for the swap. We'll celebrate the holidays a little early together. Registration required; Wayland residents only.

We will once again be hosting a special photo exhibit honoring veterans from out community. The exhibit will be displayed in the Wayland Community Center for the month of November and we will include all of the photos submitted last year. If you'd like to participate, we'd love to include some new faces! Stop by the COA or email us a photo of yourself or a loved one.

"Join us for this lively Oktoberfest celebration featuring the Double Eagle Oktoberfest German Band, back by popular demand. This oompah band is a Massachusetts-based German band that specializes in traditional polkas, waltzes and Bavarian music. They have been entertaining New England for more than 25 years. They will have you singing along and dancing.

Enjoy Oktoberfest with Bavarian themed refreshments including pretzels and c***r. Cost: $5.00 per person. Registration is required."

Want to reduce your property taxes? The Senior Tax Work-Off Program connects senior residents with Town departments to work for us to 125 hours (Jan to Nov) in exchange for a credit on their property tax bill. Applications are now available on our website or at the COA office. Applications received by October 30th at 12pm will receive priority placement.
