Those vehicles you’ve been seeing in front of the firehouse this week, were put to use today.

Yesterday was classroom training and today all of the class participants got to use their knowledge and learn how to safely extricate patients from vehicles.

Special thanks to all of the VAFR instructors for teaching this class, and to all of the students who actively participated.

We would also like to send our thanks to Mr. Auto Disposal in Crimora for donating and hauling away the vehicles for this training event.

We’ve also had our volunteers on standby for any calls for service.

From all of us at the Dooms Volunteer Fire Company— THANK YOU! ❤️

Our carnival was another wonderful success, and that’s because of YOU — our amazing community!

Thank you to everyone who came out, grabbed some food, played a game, made a donation, or simply stopped by to show your support. Your continued support means the world to our volunteers and their families.

I’m so proud of the men and women who give their time to serve this community, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of such a special little community that always comes together.

Today, our Firefighting I students honored September 11th in a way that truly captured the meaning of remembrance, sacrifice, and service.

Dressed in full firefighting gear, our students walked the SVCAL property carrying the weight of their equipment and, for a moment, reflecting on the weight carried by the firefighters, first responders, and ordinary heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

We remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember the first responders, the victims, and the families who were forever changed. And we remember the courage, compassion, and selflessness that emerged from one of our nation's darkest days. May we never forget their names, their sacrifice, or the example they left behind.

September 11, 2001: We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.
