Today, Monday, October 19, 2026, at approximately noon, a funeral service will be held at Ridgeview Cemetery to honor and lay to rest a veteran who served our country. As part of the funeral services, official military honors, including a traditional 21-gun salute, will be rendered. The City of Waynesboro is sharing this notice so nearby residents are aware of the brief, loud sounds expected during the ceremony and are not alarmed.
We appreciate the community’s understanding as we honor this veteran’s service.

PUBLIC WORKS IS INFORMING US ABOUT CRACK SEALING OPERATIONS:
πŸ›£οΈ CRACK SEALING BEGINS MONDAY, OCTOBER 5 AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH OCTOBER 14, 2026
You may notice another type of street maintenance taking place around Waynesboro beginning Monday, October 5, 2026: crack sealing.
Unlike milling and paving, crack sealing is preventive maintenance. Crews clean cracks in the pavement and fill them with a flexible sealant. Sealing those openings helps keep water from getting beneath the pavement, where it can contribute to further deterioration.

PUBLIC WORKS IS UPDATING US ON MONDAY'S MILLING & PAVING SCHEDULE:
🚧 MONDAY MILLING & PAVING UPDATE – OCTOBER 5
Milling and paving work is scheduled to continue Monday, October 5, weather and operations permitting.
Scheduled Milling:
β€’ S Delphine Ave SB β€” Windsor Rd to Western Ave
β€’ S Delphine Ave SB β€” Western Ave to Sidney Dr
Scheduled Paving:
β€’ S Forest Ave β€” 11th St to Elkin Ave
β€’ Ohio St β€” Port Republic Rd to N Wayne Ave
β€’ King Ave β€” Hopeman Pkwy to King Ave
If you live, work, or park along these streets, please move vehicles before crews arrive and follow temporary No Parking signs and traffic-control directions. Keeping the work area clear helps crews move safely and efficiently.
A quick reminder: milling removes the worn road surface and prepares it for new asphalt. Milling and paving may happen on different days, so a milled street isn’t necessarily a finished street.

Weather, equipment, contractor operations, and field conditions can affect the schedule, so planned work may shift.
