Celebrating The Lunch Place in Waynesboro! 🎉

On Monday, October 19, I had the pleasure of attending the ribbon-cutting for The Lunch Place’s new location at 42 W. Second Street, as they begin a new chapter after relocating from Christ United Methodist Church.

Since opening in 1990, The Lunch Place has spent 36 years offering our community more than a hot meal. They provide hope, fellowship, and a welcoming place for anyone who needs a little help or simply wants to share a meal with others.

🍽️ Meals served Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 1 PM
🤝 Volunteers and donations are always needed

Thank you to everyone who has supported The Lunch Place over the years and to those who make this important mission possible. Sometimes making a difference starts with something as simple as sharing a meal. Let’s keep caring for one another and making Waynesboro a place where everyone feels welcome!

Built in 1916, the Arcade Theater was once the heart of downtown, with apartments and shops in the same building. Its opening was announced in The Moving Picture World as “one of the most beautiful in the entire state of Pennsylvania,” and it proudly held the title of the largest stage east of the Mississippi River! Silent films at the Arcade were brought to life by a pipe organ, and vaudeville shows and Westerns kept crowds coming through the Depression.

As times changed and technology progressed, The Arcade was demolished in 1966, and a new modern cinema was built in its place.

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Otterbein Church in Waynesboro and the 220 volunteers serving our community today!

These volunteers are reaching out across Waynesboro Borough and the surrounding areas, putting their faith into action by serving others. What a wonderful example of showing the love of Jesus through kindness, generosity, and a willingness to help our neighbors.

Thank you, Otterbein, for making a difference in our community and reminding us that when we serve others, we share God’s love!

Halloween fun kicks off from 6:00–8:00 PM on Saturday, October 31 for Waynesboro Trick or Treat! 🎃

Handing out candy? Flip on that porch light so trick-or-treaters know to knock. And a few friendly reminders for a great night: stick to well-lit streets, travel in your goblin squad, and let a grown-up peek at your candy stash before you dig in.

Happy haunting!

I stopped by Pyramid Healthcare’s open house today and had the opportunity to spend some time with Executive Director Caitlin and Communications Director Shayla.

Pyramid provides a much-needed service in our community, helping individuals and families dealing with mental health challenges and drug and alcohol recovery.

I was especially glad to hear that they currently do not have a waiting list for their services. If you or someone you love is struggling and could use some help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Sometimes making that first call is the hardest step.

You can contact Pyramid Healthcare at 717-809-2088 office and 888-694-9996 24 hours for admissions..

Thank you to Caitlin, Shayla, and the entire Pyramid team for the important work you’re doing in our community.

Come Watch the 9/11 Memorial Motorcade

Join your neighbors on September 11th as we honor and remember those we lost and the heroes of that day. The motorcade will begin at the Moose in Waynesboro at 8:46 a.m. — the exact moment the first plane struck the North Tower — and travel through town on its way to Red Run Park.

You don't have to be at the starting point — come out and watch from anywhere along the route! It's a simple but meaningful way to show your support and take a moment to remember together.

We hope to see you there.

Mayor Royer Invites Community to Observe 9/11 Memorial Motorcade in Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, PA — Mayor Royer is inviting residents to join him and the community in honoring and remembering those lost, and the heroes of September 11, 2001, at this year's "We Remember: 9/11 Memorial Motorcade."

"As Mayor, I invite you to join me and our community as we honor and remember those we lost and the heroes of September 11, 2001," said Mayor Royer.

The motorcade will begin at 8:46 a.m. at the Moose Lodge — the exact moment the first plane struck the North Tower — and will feature a 9/11 tribute vehicle owned by Steve Barry. The procession will travel through downtown Waynesboro before arriving at Red Run Park, where a memorial event will begin at 9:37 a.m., marking the moment the Pentagon was struck.
