💗🎗️ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For firefighters, breast cancer is an occupational risk. One study found a 46% increase in breast cancer among female fire fighters compared with the general population.

This month, Weare Fire Dept. members are wearing pink to raise awareness and support those affected by breast cancer.

Weare units were dispatched to Flanders memorial road for tree and power lines down.

It is closed from Duck Pond to Holly Hill Farm Rd while eversource makes repairs.

During the same time we were also dispatched to a medical call at Autumn Hill campground and a possible building fire caused by electrical issue on Holly Hill Farm Rd.

Deering ambulance was called M/A for the medical.

Weare U1, E2 and C1 responded to Holly Hill Farm Rd and determined it was an electrical issue caused by generator and secured power to the building.

Thanks to our mutual aid partners for the help.

This morning, Weare Fire had the opportunity to take part in the John Stark Regional High School career/college fair.
Several students had the opportunity to explore where they will be after leaving high school and also show interest in even knowing what it takes to begin the path of being a career firefighter.

Thank you John Stark and good luck to the class of 2027!
