🎾 HISTORY MADE! 🎾
For the first time in school history, our Women’s Tennis team has advanced to the 4th round of the NCHSAA Playoffs!
To say this season has been special is an understatement. This incredible group of student-athletes achieved what no team before them has done, and they did it against all odds.
Due to ongoing court construction, our girls played the entire season without a single home game. That meant zero home-court advantage, endless bus rides, constantly adjusting to unfamiliar courts, and traveling just to practice every single day.
Where others might have seen an excuse, this team saw an opportunity. They embraced every challenge, turned every road match into their home court, and proved that grit, heart, and togetherness matter far more than where you play. Their resilience and determination have paid off in historic fashion.
And the excitement doesn't stop with team playoffs! A huge congratulations to Aubrey Gilliland and Natalia Cogdill, who will be competing for a Doubles State Championship this weekend! 🏆
We are beyond proud of this team, Coaches, and our individual state qualifiers for raising the bar and leaving a legacy that will inspire future players for years to come.
Good luck today at Hickory High School!
