Congratulations to our two 2026 HALL OF FAME recipients:

Alice (Cresswell) Rozelle - attended WCHS in early 1900s
Terry (Bottom) Rose - graduated from WCHS in 1970

Mrs. Alice (Cresswell) Rozelle (posthumous award) attended Webb City High School in the early 1900’s and made a lasting mark on the community through her pioneering work as a woman in journalism. Serving as a reporter, editor, and publisher of the Webb City Daily Register from 1903 to 1918, Rozelle held a prominent role in local journalism during an era when women faced significant barriers in the publishing industry. At the height of its success, the Register boasted circulation of approximately 12,000 and published eight to 16 pages six days a week. She served as the Eastern District Magistrate Clerk at the Webb City Office, was a longtime member of the Jasper County Writers Guild and was a founding member and secretary of the Jasper County Historical Society from its formation in 1953 until she passed away in 1972. Rozelle was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Webb City and an active leader in the Order of Pythian Sisters at both the local and state levels. She was also a past grand chief of the Pythian Sisters of Missouri. She married Arthur Rozelle in 1908. He died four years later, leaving her with two daughters, Undine (Rozelle) Rogers and P.D. (Rozelle) Crockett.

Mrs. Terry (Bottom) Rose is a 1970 graduate of Webb City High School. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Missouri Southern State University in 1974 and earned a Master’s Degree from Pittsburg State University in 1977. Rose dedicated over 30 years to education in the Webb City R-7 School District, leaving a lasting legacy through her work, especially with gifted students. Beginning in the 1986-87 school year, Rose helped shape the Gifted Enrichment Model (GEM) program for grades 7-12, encouraging students to recognize their potential and pursue opportunities beyond their expectations. Through college visits, Scholars and Fine Arts Academies, community service, academic resumes, goal setting, and an emphasis on personal well-being, she equipped students with the skills and confidence to succeed in school and throughout life. Many of the students she mentored went on to accomplish remarkable things, including being inducted into the Webb City Hall of Fame themselves. She helped build the leaders we celebrate today. The impact of her dedication is reflected in the Challenge Your Potential Scholarship, established in 2007 by former students and parents in her honor. Rose is married to her husband, Terry, and they have three children Landon Rose, Lynnae Cook and Laura Ragsdale, all graduates of Webb City High School.
