On World Stroke Day, Home Instead is raising awareness about stroke prevention, early detection, and the importance of supporting seniors in maintaining their health and independence.
Older adults face a higher risk of stroke, but recognizing the warning signs and acting quickly can make a life-saving difference.
🚨 Remember B.E. F.A.S.T.:
B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination
E – Eyes: Sudden vision changes
F – Face: Facial drooping or an uneven smile
A – Arms: Weakness or numbness in one arm
S – Speech: Slurred speech or difficulty speaking
T – Time: Call 911 immediately!

Proudly born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Amber brings 14 years of healthcare experience in a variety of roles, with the majority of her career spent working in skilled nursing facilities. With extensive experience as an Activity Director, she has developed a deep appreciation for the elderly and a genuine passion for ensuring seniors feel valued, respected, and cared for. Amber believes that caring for seniors is more than a profession; it is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others by providing compassion, dignity, and connection.
Amber has called the Gulf Coast home for nearly six years. Her faith in the Lord and her love for Jesus are important parts of her life and guide her in the way she treats others and approaches her work. She believes in the importance of serving others with kindness, grace, and a compassionate heart.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants, and embracing the busy, rewarding adventure of motherhood with her three-year-old daughter, Ansley. She is happily married and treasures making memories with her family.
Amber is excited to begin this next chapter with Home Instead and looks forward to using her experience, faith, and passion for senior care to serve seniors and their families throughout the community. 💙 National Senior UTI Awareness Day 💙
A urinary tract infection (UTI) may seem minor, but for older adults, it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated.
Seniors may experience common symptoms such as burning or frequent urination, but sometimes the warning signs are less obvious. Sudden confusion, unusual fatigue, or changes in behavior can be important signals that something is wrong, especially when accompanied by other symptoms.
💚 At Home Instead, our Care Professionals help protect seniors by encouraging hydration, supporting personal hygiene, recognizing changes in daily routines, and communicating concerns to families.
Early recognition and timely medical attention can make all the difference. Confusion alone does not necessarily mean a UTI, so proper medical evaluation is essential.
