Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/GED (Required)
• Must be a US citizen
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment
• Must be willing to move to and live in Webster (if hired)
• Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays
• Ability to pass drug screening and personal/criminal background investigation
• College/Vocational training (Preferred, but not required)
• Prior law enforcement experience (Preferred, but not required)
• Law enforcement certification in South Dakota (Preferred, but not required)

Pay is dependent upon experience.

Today marks Assistant Chief Dylan Collins’ last day with our department. Collins has served with our department for over 10 years. In 2023, Collins was named Assistant Chief. In 2021, Collins was awarded the Medal of Honor for his life saving efforts when a semi went through the ice. We will greatly miss Collins and his family in our community. We wish them nothing but the best in their future as Collins begins a new career. Thank you Dylan, and family, for your service to our community.

School is back in session! That means more buses, more kids walking and biking, and more families on the roads during morning and afternoon drop off times. Please slow down, stay alert, and watch for stopped school buses. Remember: flashing red lights mean stop. Let’s work together to keep our kids safe this school year.
