WEF Grants in Action 🐝🎭

“WEF has generously funded multiple opportunities for me to attend the Broadway Teachers’ Workshop… Our productions and classes continue to improve because of the professional development I receive. Thank you, WEF!” — Kate Speed, WMS

We’re proud to support Wellesley educators as they bring new ideas and inspiration into the classroom—and onto the stage. Thank you to everyone who helps make these grants possible!

WEF Grants in action! 🧠🔬

Thanks to a WEF grant, Jeffrey Robin, Wellesley High School Anatomy & Physiology teacher, brought the cutting-edge Anatomage Table into the classroom. Students can explore the human body, interact with anatomical structures in real time, and practice procedures without the need for physical cadavers—making learning more engaging and hands-on.

This is one example of how WEF grants support innovative learning across Wellesley Public Schools.

Join us at the 37th Annual Wellesley Spelling Bee and help make more ideas like this possible! 🐝📚

How do kids’ brains actually learn, and where do screens fit in? 🧠

Wellesley Education Foundation is proud to be a community partner for an evening with neuroscientist Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath, author of The Digital Delusion. Parents, caregivers, and educators of K–12 students are welcome—no expertise needed.

You’ll learn how your child’s brain grows and learns, the difference between good stress and bad stress, and practical ways to support your child at home and school, including around technology.

📍 Wellesley: Monday, Nov. 16 · 7–9 PM · Hardy Elementary School, 293 Weston Rd.

Free admission. Includes a 90-minute talk followed by a 30-minute live Q&A. Families from all towns are welcome. Register through the link in bio.

Eight organizations. Three towns. One message: this conversation matters.

Presented by TurningLifeOn and Lexington Education Foundation, with community partners Beyond Screens Wellesley, Lex Kids Be Kids, Open Door Education, Intentional Tech Coalition - Concord, MA, Wellesley Education Foundation, and Wellesley Mothers Forum

From a new piece of lab equipment to a new way of exploring science: WEF-funded gel electrophoresis devices give 12th-grade biotechnology students at WHS hands-on experience separating molecules like DNA, RNA, and proteins. 🧬🔬🧪

That’s one way community support helps bring learning to life.

See you at the Wellesley Spelling Bee on November 18 at 7pm.
