He did it! Michael Higgins fulfilled his dream of running Boston, and generously aided The Friends in doing so. Because of his amazing fundraising, The Friends can continue to provide valuable library programs and offerings. Huge thank you to Michael…and no fines for that overdue book!

Be sure to track our runner, Michael Higgins, on race day - just a week away on Monday, April 20. The Friends would love to have you join us in front of the Main library to cheer Michael on and celebrate our wonderful community. We’re hoping to see Michael pass by around 1pm. Be sure to support Michael’s campaign - link here below. Every penny goes to the Friends!

Our 2026 Boston Marathon runner, Michael Higgins, continues to train hard despite the less than ideal weather Mother Nature has brought our way. With sunnier skies on the horizon, things are looking up! Please consider supporting Michael, and The Friends, but donating to his campaign. Monday, April 20 will be here before we know it!

We are extremely excited to introduce our 2026 Boston Marathon runner – Michael Higgins! Michael grew in Wellesley attending Wellesley Public Schools “end to end” graduating in the Wellesley High School class of 2008. As Michael continues his training, we are excited to launch the start of his fundraising campaign. We encourage our Friends community to support Michael and his efforts knowing that every dollar raised will go directly to funding library programming, events, museum passes and so much more. Please donate today!
