We are pleased to welcome Ashley Kania from Bourne National Cemetery, who will speak about veteran burial and memorial services.

You will also have an opportunity to meet and connect with:

* Adam Doerfler, Cape Cod Vet Center , Veterans Outreach Program Specialist, and Marine Corps Veteran
* Greg Quilty Director, Barnstable District Department of Veterans Services and Marine Corps Veteran
This event marks the launch of a new veteran-focused initiative developed in partnership with the Cape Cod Vet Center, the Wellfleet Police Department, Barnstable District Department of Veterans services, and the Wellfleet Adult Community Center. Our goal is to strengthen connections, build camaraderie, and ensure veterans and their families know where to turn for support, information, and assistance.

Whether you served in uniform, are a family member of a veteran, or are a community partner who supports those who served, you are welcome and encouraged to attend.

We look forward to bringing our community together for a morning of conversation, connection, and camaraderie.

We've been hearing that people are concerned that the flu clinic this year will have the new MRNA version of the vaccine, so we thought we would hop on here and let you know that we are offering the traditional flu vaccines.

They are the same kind of vaccine you have received with us in the past, just updated for strains expecting to be circulating during the 2026-2027 flu season.

For Covid vaccine, we have the mNexspike from Moderna which is also updated for the 2026-2027 season.

Monday, October 12th at 9 am is Coastsweep 2026. This is an annual statewide beach cleanup event organized by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) and sponsored by the Wellfleet Conservation Trust.
The event coordinates thousands of volunteers to clean marine debris from Massachusetts shores.
All local volunteers should plan on meeting by 9 am at the Mayo Beach parking lot for supplies and assignments.

CONSTRUCTION ALERT
Construction is scheduled to begin TODAY on the new Wellfleet Food Pantry, located in the upper parking lot of the Community Center. Please expect significantly increased traffic at the Center as large trucks, machinery, and construction equipment will be using the main entrance and parking areas. Staff is working closely with the construction team to minimize disruptions for our visitors and programs.

We will be offering:
* Regular flu vaccine (for people age 5 years old and older)
* Senior flu vaccine (for people 65 years old and older)
* The newest formulation of the Moderna covid vaccine:
mNexspike (for people 12 years and older)
People are able to schedule an appointment by:
* Scheduling a flu/covid vaccine appointment in MyChart
* Scheduling a vaccine appointment on the Cape Cod Healthcare website https://www.capecodhealth.org/medical-services/pharmacy/
