🚨Burn Ban🚨
The Sumner County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a burn ban for 10 days, effective from 12:00 noon today, September 1, 2026, through 12:00 noon on September 11, 2026.
At the end of the 10-day period, the burn ban will be re-evaluated to determine whether it needs to be extended.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL SUMNER COUNTY IS CANCELLED...

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled. However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with these thunderstorms.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT FOR SOUTH CENTRAL SUMNER COUNTY...

At 623 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 miles north of Caldwell to near South Haven, moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

Locations impacted include...
South Haven and Perth.

This includes Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 5 and 7.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for South central Sumner County

* Until 715 PM CDT.

* At 614 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 11 miles southeast of Argonia to 7 miles northeast
of Caldwell to near South Haven, moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

* Locations impacted include...
South Haven and Perth.

Belle Plaine, moving northeast at 15 mph.
