Just a reminder for Daw Families!
Our Halloween Celebration will take place on Friday, October 30. Parties begin at 12:30 and the Costume Parade begins at 1:30 pm. Notes have been sent home with students and through Parent Square but please keep these things in mind as there is a change to how we normally handle costumes this year:
Do NOT wear costumes to school in the morning.
Bring costumes in a bag clearly labeled with your child's name.
12:30 PM – We will change into our costumes at school.
1:30 PM – We will parade around Broadway! 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️
Regular Dismissal – Students will go home in their costumes at the normal time.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us make this a smooth and exciting day for the kids! 🎃🐯🎃

Meet Pumpkin Jack—our newest classmate, who will be falling apart this year! 🎃😂

Today, Mrs. Ross and Mrs. LaClair’s class read Pumpkin Jack and talked about the pumpkin life cycle before kicking off our own decomposition project! We wrote down our predictions about our pumpkins and what we think will happen as they change. ✏️

We also guessed our pumpkin’s height and width, then broke out the rulers to see how close our estimates were! 📏 Next came the big question: Would our pumpkin sink or float? Our friends were SHOCKED to discover it floated! Its hollow, air-filled center helps keep it afloat! 💦🎃

Now we’ll watch Jack change over time. Things might get a little squishy, fuzzy, and funky… but that’s science! 🔍🧡
