The Welsh Police Department is hosting the 13th annual Hunter Safety Education Program just before hunting season on Friday August 14, 2026 from 5pm—9pm and Saturday August 15, 2026 from 8am—2:30pm. This program stresses fi***rm safety/hunter ethics/conservation and consists of 10 hours of classroom instruction, a written final exam and participation in a field exercise. The class is FREE of charge. If you would like to sign up for this class you must be 10 years of age or older and visit www.WLF.LA.gov click on Hunter Education then click on Click Here to register. Sign up soon because there will only be 60 seats available. Class will be held at the Welsh Firemen Hut located at 115 Grove St. Welsh LA. The Welsh Police Department looks forward to seeing you there.
