Chelan Douglas County Volunteer Attorney Services - VAS Our volunteers provide our clients with high quality, free, civil legal services.

CDCVAS helps pair low-income people with civil legal problems in Chelan and Douglas Counties with volunteer attorneys from our local Chelan-Douglas Bar Association. Chelan and Douglas counties have some of the highest poverty levels in Washington. VAS achieves justice in this community by helping low-income people with civil legal problems through high quality, pro bono legal services. We accomplish this mission by enlisting the help of volunteer attorneys from our local Chelan-Douglas Bar. Volunteer attorneys assist clients from Chelan and Douglas counties who meet financial eligibility standards and who have been screened and interviewed on discreet civil legal issues. A client’s household income and resources must be at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level to be eligible for VAS services. VAS is successful in providing access to justice for people in need in our local community only with your support. Each year, VAS helps hundreds of families and individuals get legal assistance when they need it most. From 2011 to 2012 alone, VAS attended to nearly 900 clients with legal problems in the areas of consumer, family, housing, estate planning, and employment law, among others. VAS programs include multiple clinics & opportunities for pro bono legal service:
• Family Law clinic every Tuesday and General Law clinic every Thursday at VAS's office
• Senior Law clinic the 1st Wednesday at the Wenatchee Senior Center
• Housing Justice Project clinic every Friday morning at the Chelan County Superior Court
• Full representation for eligible cases
• Specialty workshops on family law, housing, consumer, employment, wills & estates

Helpful information to be a more informed voter!

State Supreme Court judges are like SCOTUS judges – if we could vote for them and they retired before 80.

This year, five of the nine seats are up for election on Washington’s Supreme Court - and you get to decide who fills them.

Swipe to learn what these judges do and why voting for them matters.

⏰Voting starts on Oct. 16! Double check that you are registered to vote and look out for your ballot next week.

🗳️As WA Voting Justice Coalition would say, be a first week voter and drop off your ballot Oct. 16 – 23.

⌛Voting ends Nov. 3, 8:00 PM. Election Day is the last day to cast your vote, not the first.

October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month-a time to honor survivors, raise awareness, educate our communities, and remind those experiencing abuse that they are not alone. It is an opportunity to recognize the impact of domestic violence, learn the signs of abuse, and connect survivors with support and resources.
How can you help? Listen without judgment. Believe survivors. Learn about domestic violence. Share resources.
Speak up against abuse and support prevention and survivor-centered services.
At Sage Advocacy Center, we stand with survivors—not just in October, but every day. We are here to listen, support, advocate, and connect survivors with resources as they navigate their journey toward safety and healing.
Survivors are not alone. We see you. We believe you. We stand with you.
