If you missed the public hearing today on the draft update to the Chelan County Comprehensive Plan, there's still time to get your written comments in.

Written comments on the plan (we'll put the link below) are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 3. Email them to [email protected].

Today, commissioners took comments on the proposed Malaga UGA, the draft Stehekin Community Plan and the Climate Resiliency Assessment. Commissioners continued the hearing to 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 10.

In addition, a public hearing will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 10 to gather comments on the Transportation Element of the comp plan as well as citizen-initiated map amendment proposals to the comp plan.

BEAVER HILL UPDATE: The new retaining wall is done! 👏👏

Our contractor has road repairs to make, guardrail to install and road striping to complete yet this week.

The closure at Beaver Hill on Chumstick Highway remains in place until we are done. Getting sooooo close! We will let you know when it opens.

We have the first of two public hearings on the update to the Chelan County Comprehensive Plan, a 20-year planning document for the county.

Join us at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, when we will be taking comments on parts of the plan's elements, including the proposed Malaga UGA, the new Stehekin Community Plan and the Climate Resiliency element.

This week, our Leavenworth crew will continue to work on Chumstick Highway, including installing a final culvert near milepost 10. Watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic; however, traffic delays should be minor for the county-related work. The crew also will be brushing, ditching and cleaning culverts on Chumstick Highway.

In the Chelan District, the crew will be grading on Union Valley and Downey Canyon roads as well as patching potholes and fixing shoulder throughout the district.

The Cashmere crew to be back in Williams Canyon, putting in shoulder where they recently paved. The crew also will be crack sealing on Mission Creek Road. Watch for one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic in both work zones.

The Wenatchee crew will be ditching in the Colockum  area, and the Entiat crew will be doing – wait for it! – snowplow and winter equipment checks.
