Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Wendell Fire Department pauses to remember the 2,977 lives lost and the extraordinary courage shown by firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and ordinary citizens. We especially honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call. Twenty-five years later, their courage, service, and sacrifice remain an enduring example to every firefighter who wears the badge.

We will Never Forget.
