Mount Sunflower Mount Sunflower is the highest point in Kansas. It is located in a beautiful, northwest Kansas pasture. It is accessible by car or on foot.

Mount Sunflower has received close to a inch of rain this morning and it is still raining so travel to the high point is discouraged. I n fact Mount Sunflower is closed.

Mount Sunflower received approximately 1 inch of rain early this morning 8-19-2026 making washboard road and the entrance to the high point very muddy. Be wise🧐!!

The entrance to Mount Sunflower is getting a new cattle guard so the main entrance is closed through next week (2/16-22/2026 but the alternate entrance is the open gate to the east. Be aware we had significant rain last night (2/13/2026) so travel is messy.
