🚒 Baldwin Fire Department – Mutual Aid Response 🔥

Baldwin Fire Department responded to assist Standish Fire/EMS at a fully involved garage fire that had extended into the main residence.

Baldwin crews worked alongside Standish and other responding departments to bring the fire under control, extinguish remaining fire, and assist with fireground operations.

Incidents like this are a strong reminder of the importance of mutual aid and teamwork between neighboring departments. When the call comes in, our firefighters leave their families, jobs, and daily lives behind to answer the call and help a neighbor in need.

A sincere thank you to all of the dedicated firefighters who responded and worked together on scene.

Today, Baldwin Fire Department responded to an outside fire involving a previously permitted burn pile that had rekindled due to windy conditions. The fire began spreading from the pile and moving up the surrounding hillside.

Baldwin crews, with assistance from Cornish Fire Department, quickly contained the fire and prevented further spread.

Crews remained on scene for extensive mop-up operations, utilizing approximately 5,500 gallons of water to ensure the deep-seated fire was extinguished.

Thank you to our mutual aid partners for the quick response and assistance!

As a reminder, previously burned areas can retain heat for days and may rekindle when conditions become dry or windy. 🔥🚒

**BURN PERMITS HAVE BEEN SHUT OFF FOR THE REST OF THE DAY DUE TO THE WINDY DRY CONDITIONS!**

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Tomorrow morning, the Baldwin Fire Department will pull our apparatus outside our stations and illuminate their emergency lights from 8:46 AM until 9:03 AM.

Seventeen minutes.

A small amount of time that forever changed our country—and the fire service.

At 8:46 AM, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower. At 9:03 AM, United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower. In the hours that followed, firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, and ordinary citizens demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Among them were 343 members of the FDNY who went to work that morning and never returned home.

They climbed while others descended.
They entered while others escaped.
They answered the call because someone needed them.

For those 17 minutes, our trucks will sit quietly with their lights shining—not for an emergency, but as a symbol of remembrance.

We remember the 343. We remember every first responder and innocent life lost that day. We remember the families who said goodbye that morning without knowing it would be the last time.

And we remember the promise made in the days that followed:

We will never forget.

May our lights shine for those whose watch ended on September 11, 2001, and may we continue to honor them every time we answer the call.

🇺🇸 343 — Forever Remembered. Forever Our Brothers.
