In Memory of Paul Caron: 38 years ago tonight, West Barnstable Call/Volunteer Firefighter Paul Caron was killed in the line-of-duty responding to a motor vehicle accident. Please join the WBFD Family in remembering Paul and his sacrifice to help others.

🚒 CALL/VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER APPLICATION DEADLINE

The West Barnstable Fire Department will be accepting applications until 1200 hours (12:00 PM) tomorrow, October 7, for our next round of Call/Volunteer Firefighter hiring.

Applications received after the deadline will still be accepted and will be held for consideration during our next round of hiring.

If you are interested in serving your community as a member of the West Barnstable Fire Department, now is the time to get your application in!

GREAT NEWS! OFFICER GINNETTY IS COMING HOME, TODAY AT 5:30!
Barnstable Police Officer Peter Ginnetty is finally coming home!

After numerous surgeries and weeks in a Boston hospital, Peter is coming home to his family, his brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and his community.

He has a long road ahead with his recovery, but today we celebrate the fact that HE IS ALIVE AND HE IS COMING HOME!

Peter was nearly killed a few weeks ago when he was struck by a drunk driver while directing traffic in Hyannis. He and his family have been overwhelmed by the prayers, support and help they have received from so many people.

Now let’s give Peter the welcome home he deserves!

If you can, PLEASE COME OUT AND PACK THE ROTARY AT EXIT 65 IN WEST BARNSTABLE as Peter comes home today at 5:30PM with a full police es**rt around the rotary and over the First Responder Appreciation Bridge.

Bring your American flag. Bring your family. Say a prayer. Wave, cheer and let Peter know just how much this community cares about him.

Let’s show Officer Ginnetty and his family that everyone in the FIGHTIN’ FIFTH and all over Cape Cod is behind them all the way.

Great news for West Barnstable! 🚑

The West Barnstable Fire Department is pleased to announce that we have been awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) through FEMA to purchase new Stryker EMS patient-handling equipment for our ambulance.

This equipment will significantly improve patient safety while also helping protect our firefighters and EMS personnel from the lifting injuries that can occur while moving and loading patients.

Federal grant funding allows our department to make improvements like this while greatly reducing the financial impact on our local taxpayers. We are extremely grateful to FEMA and the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for supporting our department and our community.

Also, thank you to our federal representatives, U.S. Representative Bill Keating, Elizabeth Warren, and Senator Edward J. Markey as they continue to support our community.

🎃🚒 Pumpkins Have Arrived at WBFD! 🚒🎃

On the way back from training, Car 2 made a quick stop at Dick and Daphne’s Pumpkin Patch in West Yarmouth to pick up the West Barnstable Fire Department’s pumpkins! 🍂🎃

We’re getting into the fall spirit at the station! Thank you to Dick and Daphne’s for helping us bring a little autumn cheer to WBFD. 🧡

🚒 Fire Drill at West Parish Family School🚨

Today, the West Barnstable Fire Department conducted a fire drill at West Parish Family School to give students and staff the opportunity to practice their emergency evacuation procedures.

Fire drills are an important part of emergency preparedness and help ensure that everyone knows what to do and where to go in the event of an emergency.

We appreciate the cooperation of the students, staff, and school administration and their continued commitment to keeping our school community safe! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒
