What an absolutely fantastic evening! Our “Color Some Kindness” event was the perfect reset, fun, relaxing, creative, and full of great conversation. The music, the laughter, the easy chit‑chat… it all made for such a refreshing change of pace from our usual meeting structure. I loved having the chance to share a few high‑level updates while we enjoyed each other’s company.
A warm welcome to our newest member, Renee Fairconeture; we’re thrilled you joined us!
Coloring boxes together was simple, joyful, and meaningful. Knowing each one will brighten the day of a senior receiving a grocery box made every moment feel special.
A huge thank‑you to Carey Snow for the wonderful tour and for answering every question we tossed her way. Carey and her colleagues at the Chester County Food Bank are making a tremendous impact across our community, and we’re proud to spotlight her!
About “Color Some Kindness” What started as a children’s project has grown into a countywide movement to spread encouragement and joy. With guidance from the Kindness Crew, we decorated boxes with heartfelt messages that truly make a difference for seniors throughout Chester County.

💗 Beyond the Ribbon Community Wellness Festival
We are incredibly grateful to have been a sponsor, volunteer, and community partner for the Beyond the Ribbon Community Wellness Festival, a meaningful celebration of health, hope, strength, and resilience.
It was an honor to stand alongside survivors, families, advocates, volunteers, and community partners as we celebrated survivors, honored those impacted by breast cancer, remembered loved ones, and connected our community to wellness and support.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this beautiful event possible. We are proud to stand with our community and grateful for the opportunity to serve. 💗

We look forward to being at the event and supporting our community!

We are so excited to share about an upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month event happening at Abdala Park on October 3rd from 11 AM-2 PM. This event is aimed to spread awareness, help community members get connected with preventive care and information, a wall of remembrance, and a survivors walk. We will also have fun activities including pumpkin decorating, beauty station, and wellness games. As breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the US and approximately 2,670 men each year, we know this is something that unfortunately impacts everyone.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in our survivors walk, please reach out to Moira Gassenmeyer at [email protected] with their name.

The Chester County Women’s Commission was honored to support the 2026 Walk for Women hosted by Home of the Sparrow.

Several of our Commission members laced up their sneakers and joined the walk in support of single women in Chester County facing housing challenges. Every step taken represents hope, stability, and the belief that every woman deserves a safe place to call home.

We are grateful to stand alongside community partners working to create brighter futures for women and families throughout Chester County.

The Chester County Women’s Commission proudly celebrates and thanks People's Light for bringing The Woman Question to the stage; an incredibly powerful production highlighting the courage, resilience, and determination of women pursuing education and equity in medicine during a time when their voices were often denied.
This moving story beautifully connects past and present, reminding us that the fight for opportunity, representation, and equality continues to matter deeply today. We are especially proud that Chester County’s own Ann Preston, part of the first graduating class of the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1851 and keynote speaker at the 1852 Women’s Rights Convention, helped pave the way for generations of women leaders.
Together, we honor the women who challenged history and continue uplifting those shaping the future. ✨
