Dear Benjamin District 25 Family,

On behalf of the Board of Education, you are cordially invited to attend a Community Forum on Thursday, January 30, at 7p.m. in the small gymnasium at Benjamin Middle School.

Dr. Bhavna Sharma-Lewis, a consultant for the Board of Education, will deliver a presentation highlighting our efforts to Re Imagine Benjamin for Excellence. She will share her experiences and outcomes in strategically aligning a school district’s goals, priorities and initiatives.

This discussion will center on planning for the future of our district, focusing on serving our students and community while striving to achieve excellence.

Welcome Aboard!
A warm welcome to John Langton as he joins the Benjamin District 25 team as interim superintendent.

He most recently served as interim superintendent at West Chicago Community High School District 94 from 2023-2024. He previously was the long-time superintendent leading Addison District 4 (2009-2022) and assistant superintendent (2003-2009).

Previous experience also includes serving as middle school principal, Indian Trail Junior High School; elementary principal, Wesley Elementary School; middle school asst. principal, Stratford Junior High; and both as an elementary and middle school teacher in Wheeling.

He and his wife, Jill, have been Benjamin District 25 residents for 30 years, and are the parents of two children, Ryan and Kellyn.

Please note: A special Benjamin District 25 Board of Education meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Monday night, Jan 6, following the Board Retreat in the Administration Center board room.

The meeting will include a presentation by Dr. Bhavna Sharma-Lewis entitled “Reimagine Benjamin” which will lay the foundation for the district to start creating a planning vision and a strategic direction.

Bhavna Sharma-Lewis, Ph.D is an experienced educator with 30 years of experience in public education, having worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction and superintendent.

Construction doesn’t take a break during “break.” Evergreen Elementary School’s gym floor is prepped for Monday flooring installation.

The elves are working hard today- Evergreen Elementary School students will have a new gym floor when they return from winter break.

Evergreen Elementary School students had a blast learning about good character with Tim Hannig! What away to celebrate earning golden tickets for filling SOAR expectations buckets! Thank you to the Benjamin-Evergreen PTA for this fabulous assembly!
