๐Ÿ’™ Remembering Those Who Served ๐Ÿ’™

DAV 92nd Buffalo Chapter 20 of the proudly continues the long-standing DAV Forget-Me-Not Campaign on Fort Jackson.

Four times each year, our members come together to distribute the iconic blue Forget-Me-Not flowers, honoring the wounded, ill, and disabled veterans who have sacrificed in service to our nation.

This campaign is more than fundraisingโ€”itโ€™s a reminder to Never Forget those who served and the veterans who continue to need our support.

๐Ÿ’™ Veterans Helping Veterans. Thatโ€™s our mission.

Serving those who serve! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The DAV 92nd Buffalo Chapter 20 was proud to purchase snacks and drinks for the USO at Columbia Metropolitan Airport, helping ensure service members traveling through the airport have a variety of refreshments to choose from during their journey.

Itโ€™s a small gesture with a meaningful purposeโ€”supporting our servicemen and servicewomen and letting them know they are appreciated wherever their travels take them.

Their Sacrifice Endures

On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we pause to remember the brave Americans who never stopped serving, even in captivity, and those whose fate remains unknown.

Their stories are woven into the fabric of our nation's history. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of freedom.

Today and every day, we honor them, support their families, and pledge that their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Until every answer is found and every hero is accounted for, we will remember.

๐Ÿ’™ THIS SEPTEMBER, LETโ€™S MAKE SURE NO VETERAN FEELS ALONE.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month โ€” a time to raise awareness, start the conversations that can be difficult to have, and remind our Veterans that their lives matter, their struggles matter, and they do not have to face them alone.

Behind every uniform is a person. A spouse. A parent. A friend. A brother or sister. A neighbor.

And sometimes, the strongest person you know may be struggling silently.

Veterans may face challenges that others don't always see โ€” PTSD, chronic pain, financial hardship, housing instability, relationship struggles, isolation, or the difficult transition back to civilian life. These challenges can take a heavy toll.

๐Ÿซ‚ Sometimes, a simple check-in can be the first step.
Don't be afraid to ask:

โ€œHow are you really doing?โ€
โ€œAre you okay?โ€
โ€œDo you need someone to talk to?โ€

You don't need to have the perfect words.
You don't need to fix everything.

Just listen. Be present. Let them know they matter.
