🚨📣🚨📣🚨📣🚨📣🚨

Y’all could’ve just asked us to bring back the posts.

Seriously. A message would’ve worked.

There was absolutely no need to start leaving vehicles unlocked again — especially with fi****ms and other valuables inside — just to get our attention. 😑

But since apparently this is how we communicate now… WE’RE BACK. 😂. Here’s your friendly reminder..

So before you settle in for the night:

🔐 Lock your vehicles
🔑 Take your keys
📱 Remove valuables
🔫 PLEASE don’t leave fi****ms in an unlocked vehicle

And yes… some of our old classics might be making a comeback.

Pine Ridge, lock it down and stay safe.

There are more than 500 registered s*x offenders Lexington County. Every year, we receive questions about s*x offenders on the registry being under any restrictions for Halloween. In short, that depends on whether the offender is on probation or parole.

If an offender IS on probation or parole, some restrictions are enforced and monitored by several agencies. Some of the restrictions are listed below

- A s*x offender on probation or parole cannot have exterior lights on at their residence on the night of Halloween.
- A s*x offender on probation or parole must stay inside their home from 5:30-9:00 p.m. on Halloween.
- A s*x offender on probation or parole cannot attend or host any Halloween-related events; this includes parties, carnivals, haunted houses, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches.
- A s*x offender on probation or parole is not allowed to answer their door on Halloween night.
- A s*x offender on probation or parole is not allowed to wear costumes.
- A s*x offender on probation or parole is not allowed to pass out candy.
- A s*x offender on probation or parole is not allowed to participate in trick-or-treating.

Please note that these restrictions apply only to those convicted of child s*x offenses under the jurisdiction of SCDPPPS.

Offenders who are NOT on probation or parole have no restrictions when it comes to participating in Halloween.

We encourage everyone to check out the South Carolina S*x Offender Registry website BEFORE you go trick-or-treating.

WET ROADS = EXTRA CAUTION! 🚗🌧

With this rain, the roads are wet and slick! Remember to slow down, leave extra space between you and the vehicle ahead, and give yourself plenty of time to stop.

Even a familiar road can become dangerous when it's wet.

Wipers on, lights on.

🌧️🚗 Since everyone seems to be out driving in the rain, here are a few friendly reminders:

If your windshield wipers are on, your headlights need to be on too. That’s South Carolina Law.

And for the LOVE of everything… USE YOUR BLINKERS. 😭

If you’re running low on blinker fluid, visit your local part store, they can hook you up. 😂

Also:

• Slow down and leave extra space between you and the car in front of you.
• Don’t stop short or slam on your brakes.
• Don’t ride somebody’s bumper.
• Don’t speed just because you’re running late.
• Watch for standing water. Hydroplaning is real.
• Make sure your windshield is clear and you can actually see.
• And please don’t drive like the rain suddenly turned Pine Ridge Drive or Fish Hatchery into NASCAR. 😭

Everybody has somewhere they’re trying to get to.

Be safe, because accidents, tickets, repairs, and insurance get expensive in an already expensive world.

Drive smart, Drive safe Pine Ridge.

🚗 More Parking Volunteers Needed!

We’re looking for a couple of extra hands (in hi-vis!) to help keep our car parking area safe, smooth, and neighbor-friendly during the event.
You’d be helping with things like:
• Guiding cars to the right spots
• Making sure laneways stay clear
• Gently reminding people not to park like it’s the Wild West

It’s a low-key but important role that helps everything running safely, smoothly and is respectful of all attending.

Please contact Congaree Cares if you are available!

Love should feel safe.

You shouldn’t have to rehearse your words, hide your friendships, or fear what happens when you say “no.” Domestic violence can include threats, control, isolation, and financial abuse, even when there are no visible injuries.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To anyone living through abuse: we see you, you deserve support, and what’s happening is not your fault. You don’t have to share your story in the comments to be heard. 💜

Check on your people. Listen without judgment. Offer support without pressuring them.

*Cuteness Alert with Keegan*

Wood Elementary School had Career Day today and according to Keegan, he wanted to be just like SRO Robinson when he grows up.

We love to hear stories about how our SRO impacts and interacts with the children at his school. The Pine Ridge Police Department is blessed to have an SRO that is beyond committed to the students he protects and serves on a daily basis.

Building meaningful relationships with students at a young age can sometimes make all the difference in the world with children.

Thank you SRO Robinson for all you do for your students.

🇺🇸 9/11 — A Day America Will Never Forget
On September 11, 2001, nearly 2,977 people lost their lives in the terrorist attacks.

The lives lost were office workers, passengers, firefighters, police officers, emergency workers, and ordinary people who never knew that morning would be their last.

Among the fallen were 343 FDNY firefighters and 23 NYPD officers, who rushed toward danger while others were trying to escape.
More than two decades later, their names and stories remain part of American history.

We will never forget.
