Awhile back, you may remember encountering me constantly equipped with an embroidery hoop, a bag of scrap fabrics and a rainbow of embroidery floss. Inevitably, you'd ask what I was working on, and I would awkwardly and laboriously explain that this was my Cycles project in which I was creating a piece of art - in this case a quilt square - that I worked on each day of my menstrual cycle as a means to connect my creativity with my bodily cycles and rhthms.

This particular way of creating was not my brainchild. In fact, pianist and composer Amy Wurtz conceived of the process and generously brought me and two other visual artists along.

As a result Amy has completed an album of 26 tracks, Erin has painted 28 inky blue scenes on napkins, and Carmen has sculpted 27 ceramic figures, and we as a group have composed an art show named "Cyclature"!

You are all invited to the debut of Amy's album alongside Cyclature art made by yours truly, Erin O'Neill and Carmen Petralia.
