Another year of sharing our love of all things firefighter related with the kids of Middleburgh elementary. This year we also got to share what we do as trained medical first responders as well. The kids asked a lot of great questions and hopefully took away some important information. The day wasn't all business however. We did get up to a little mischief with sparky.

The West Fulton Firebots are set up at the Schoharie County Sunshine fair in Cobleskill, in the progress land building this week. If you or your children are interested in robotics or 3-D printing, stop by and talk to the kids. We not only have Robotics programs for grades four through 12, we would also be more than happy to come in and talk with your school or organization to help get more area robotics teams off the ground.

Good morning. We have no idea what’s going on with the Electric up here on the hill nor when National grid will restore service. In the meanwhile, though, the firehouse does have power. If you are in need of a place to go with lights on and running water, or just a place to charge your devices, please reach out to us either via the comments on our page or by calling the chief directly at 607-267-8988, and we will make arrangements to open the building.

Tonight we held our annual installation dinner at the Horseshoe Cafe. The food was fantastic and the company even better. We held a moment of silence for the passing of Fire Police Captain Lenny Portello. Amber DeLaet was honored for 10 years of service and Doug was presented with his certificate of completion for BEFO. Thank you to everyone who came!

It is with heavy hearts that The West Fulton Fire Department says our last goodbye to Lenny Portello. Lenny joined the department in 2012 and soon after became our Fire Police Captain. Lenny was also a member of the Schoharie County Fire Police association. He served our department and his community well. Rest easy brother. We will take it from here.
