West Jordan Fire Department is proud to recognize the first responders whose quick actions, teamwork, and expertise helped save a life. Several of our members were honored with the Amazing Save Award for their role in this incredible rescue.

But one hero deserves a special spotlight: 11-year-old Alice Whitney. When her mother needed help, Alice acted quickly and called 911, setting lifesaving care into motion. Her courage and quick thinking helped make all the difference.

Congratulations to our WJFD members and all the first responders recognized for their outstanding work. And a special thank you to Alice for reminding us that heroes come in all ages. ❤️

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001.

On this 25th anniversary, the West Jordan Fire Department pauses to remember the 2,977 lives lost, including 343 firefighters, 60 law enforcement officers, and 8 paramedics who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We honor their bravery, remember the families, and pay tribute to the resilience of our nation.

To all who stepped forward to answer the call on that day- and to all who continue to serve and protect today- we will never forget.

Last week our crews participated in hands-on driving training using the Emergency Apparatus Driving Simulator, provided by the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy and Utah Valley University.

This mobile simulator allows firefighters to practice operating engines, ladder trucks, and ambulances through realistic emergency scenarios, weather conditions, and high-traffic environments. Continuous driving education ensures our crews remain prepared to respond safely and efficiently in West Jordan.

Thank you UFRA for providing this resource to help keep our personnel and community safe on the road! 🚒🔥
