Greetings, Tomahawks!



October is always an exciting month at Battle Ground Middle School! The leaves are changing, the temperatures are getting cooler, and our school is buzzing with learning, activities, and lots of Tomahawk spirit.



As we head into the heart of the school year, thank you for your continued partnership and support. Our students are settling into routines, building friendships, discovering new interests, and growing academically and personally each day. We are so proud of the positive energy and sense of community we see throughout our building.



Thank you for being such an important part of the BGM family. Go Tomahawks! 🖤💛



ILEARN Checkpoint Testing

BGM students will take their ILEARN Math Checkpoints on October 12 and 14. The data from these assessments will help us identify students who may need additional support or intervention in math, as required by the State of Indiana.

Based on the results, some students may receive additional math support, which could include schedule changes to participate in math labs or other interventions. We encourage families to talk with students about the importance of taking their time, reading carefully, and giving their very best effort on these assessments. If possible, please avoid scheduling appointments or other activities that would require your child to miss school on October 12 or 14. Please remind your students they should bring headphones each day. All students are permitted to have audio read aloud for the math portion- encourage your student to use this! Thank you for your support!

Attendance Information

Every school day matters! Regular attendance helps students stay connected, keep up with learning, and build the habits they need for success. Reminder-the BGM Office hours are from 8:00am-4:30pm. Please note that calls after 4:30pm will be returned the next day. Finally, if you need to pick up your student early, please do so by 3:45pm due to buses. Thanks for your attention to this!
