Lab 8!!

This week, we officially kicked off our FTX Prep. Cadets completed a gear layout, followed by a ruck packing class to help them better understand how to use their equipment and carry it efficiently. They also rotated through classes on Field Hygiene and, wildlife, and how to field strip an MRE. Cadets walked through the occupation of a Patrol Base and Objective Rally Point, as well as the crossing of a Linear Danger Area. This helped them understand what to expect when we head out for FTX.

Great job, Boilers!

Lab 7!🪖

Last week, the Boiler Battalion continued training to prepare for our upcoming Fall FTX!

MS1 cadets received their introduction to the attack! They refreshed the fundamentals they have learned in previous labs, then learned how to differentiate an attack from other type of missions. They finished out lab by executing a squad-sized practical exercise!

MS2 cadets refreshed their knowledge on the ambush, then put that knowledge into practice by completing a full practical exercise as a platoon.

MS3 cadets completed a PLT ambush! They stepped into leadership roles to successfully lead their PLT through the mission. They continue to refine their skills in preparation for our upcoming Fall FTX!

Congratulations to CDT Cruz who contracted at the end of lab!

AFT Week! 💪

Last week, the Boiler Battalion competed in the Army Fitness Test (AFT). Cadets were tested across a series of five events designed to evaluate their overall physical fitness, from strength and power to muscular and aerobic endurance.

🏋️ 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift
💪 Hand-Release Push-Up
🏃 Sprint-Drag-Carry
🧱 Plank
⏱️ 2-Mile Run

The AFT is both a physically and mentally challenging test, and our cadets showed up ready to push themselves. Physical readiness is the foundation of everything we do and this week was a great measure of the hard work our cadets put in.

Great job, Boilers!

Lab 5!

This week at lab, MS3 cadets gained hands-on practice in patrol base operations and priorities of work, building the skills they'll need to lead their squads through STX lanes at our upcoming Fall FTX.

MS2 cadets refreshed their knowledge on Linear Danger Area and Open Danger Area crossings, then put that knowledge to the test in a practical exercise, working together to move safely across each danger area.

MS1 cadets got their first introduction to STX lanes, starting with a class on Movement to Contact before applying what they learned in a squad-sized practical exercise — a great first step into small-unit tactics.

At the end of lab, the Boiler Battalion contracted 5 Cadets. Congratulations to Cadets Kraner, Allen, Vadlamani, Reuter, and Yu!

Another productive week of training as our cadets continue preparing for the challenges ahead!
