🌾 SORGHUM IS A MORGAN COUNTY TRADITION! 🌾

One of the sweetest parts of the Morgan County Sorghum Festival is celebrating the families who have kept this Appalachian tradition alive—and our longtime friends, The Townsends, are a perfect example!

For 5 generations, the Townsend family has been making sorghum right here in our community. Danny Townsend is a two-time Sweet Sorghum National Champion, and his sorghum is made the old-fashioned way—with a mule-drawn mill at Old Mill Park!

A Vietnam veteran, founding member of Homegrown by Heroes, and proud Appalachian, Danny and the Townsend family represent the craftsmanship, hard work, and heritage that make this festival so special. ❤️

Come see history in motion, meet the Townsends, and taste a little piece of Appalachian tradition!
