PSA:

We wanted to bring to your attention to a recent scam targeting residents and businesses via the distribution of fake invoices purporting to be municipal bills.

Most recently, these scams have targeted upstate counties and municipalities in the Southern Tier.

These fraudulent invoices may look authentic and may request payment through unfamiliar methods or to accounts that differ from those normally used by the municipality (i.e., wire transfers). These threats are ongoing and widespread, so be mindful.

Fall Resource Fair on Tuesday, October 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southside Mall in Oneonta. We are expecting 52 community based organizations this year. A lot of wonderful resources that are available to residents in the county. There will also be a participation gift to the first 50 attendees to turn in a participation form. We hope to see you there!
