Another reminder as some are still working hard to get the crops out: Please Look Up and Look Out for overhead power lines and watch for power poles. If a power line comes down onto your vehicle, the best thing to do is to stay inside the vehicle and call 911. The only time to exit is if the vehicle is on fire. If on fire, jump with feet together without touching the vehicle and ground at the same time. Jump as far away as you can with feet together.

Underneath much of America’s farmland lies buried pipeline and utilities. These utilities may carry natural gas or oil, electricity, communication lines or water. Any one of these utilities struck during a farming operation can cause dangerous consequences for you, your family, tenants, hired hands, your neighbors, your community and the environment, possibly impacting your farm for years.

Contact 811 or go to Nebraska811.com to get your underground utilities marked every time before you dig.

Our CCPPD Operation Round-Up fund has awarded money to Randy Dunn in the past to help with purchasing items to show the kids when he talks to them about history. It's neat to see him at Howells Community Catholic School. Thank you to our CCPPD Operation Round-Up board member, Danielle Ortmeier, for sending this.
