🍂 Pumpkins? Yes. Sweaters? Yes. Mosquitoes? Unfortunately… yes. 🦟

As cooler temperatures arrive and we start enjoying the signs of fall, it’s easy to assume mosquitoes are no longer a concern. But here in Benton County, mosquitoes can remain active well into the fall, especially on warmer days.

Here’s what you should know:

🦟 Mosquitoes don’t disappear overnight. While activity generally decreases as temperatures cool, mosquitoes can still be active when conditions are favorable.

🍁 Keep up with yard maintenance. Fallen leaves and debris can clog drainage areas and create places where water collects.

🌅 Be mindful of when mosquitoes are active. Depending on the species, mosquitoes may be most active around dawn and dusk. If you’re spending time outdoors, consider wearing long sleeves and using an EPA-registered mosquito repellent.

🏡 A little prevention goes a long way! Taking a few minutes to walk around your property and remove standing water can help reduce mosquito breeding sites in your neighborhood.

Don’t let mosquitoes crash your fall fun! 🍂🦟

🦟🤫 Ms. Mosquito’s Secret of the Week!

Psst… got animal troughs? 🐴💦
Ms. Mosquito says, don’t let them become her nursery!

Mosquitoes love standing water, and troughs can be the perfect place to lay eggs. Keep that water fresh by dumping and refilling regularly to help send those pesky mosquitoes packing! 🦟
