Natomas was alive this past weekend as I joined my friend Councilwoman Lisa Kaplan to walk precincts and get to know voters.

Huge support for her re-election campaign because she gets things done in Natomas.

I encourage all of our Natomas friends to vote Lisa Kaplan!

Sacramento’s MLB expansion campaign is officially underway ⚾🌉

Regional leaders and investors are making the case that Sacramento belongs in the big leagues, with a shovel-ready 50-acre site in City of West Sacramento, Government, nearly $2 billion in proposed public-private funding, and a vision for a new mixed-use district surrounding a future ballpark.

The Sacramento Pitch brings together business leaders, local governments and investors with one goal: making Sacramento impossible for MLB to ignore as the league eyes expansion by 2029.

As the largest U.S. market with only one permanent Big 5 professional team, Sacramento’s momentum, growth and baseball history are all part of the pitch.

“People have been sleeping on Sacramento.” Maybe not for much longer. 💪

A brilliant friend and servant to our West Sac community.

Barry, your vibrance and love for our mighty little city will be greatly missed.

The West Sacramento Police Department mourns the passing of former Chief Barry Kalar, the first Chief of Police for our department and a respected leader whose influence helped shape the foundation of policing in our community.

Chief Kalar’s dedication to public service extended far beyond law enforcement. In addition to his distinguished career, he was an active member of the local Rotary as well as an Adjunct Professor of Administration of Justice. He remained committed to serving and strengthening the West Sacramento community and beyond throughout his life.

We are sincerely grateful for the impact Chief Kalar had on the law enforcement profession, our department, and the many people he mentored and inspired over the years.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Chief Kalar’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all who knew him. His legacy of leadership and service will not be forgotten, and he will be sorely missed.

Kyla Aquino Irving Needs a Kidney | Can You Help? 04/10/2026

I am a woman who lives with one kidney following a kidney cancer diagnosis. Thankfully, the cancer only took one and left me one other.

Today, my friend Kyla is battling as her kidneys fail to function.

I’m doing what I can to show up for her now by helping find a living donor. If you’re open to learning more (or even just sharing) please take a moment to visit her page:

https://nkr.org/RER245

You don’t have to be a match to help. And even sharing this could connect her to the right person.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and keeping Kyla in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏

Kyla Aquino Irving Needs a Kidney | Can You Help? Kyla Aquino Irving is seeking a living kidney donor. Paired exchange may allow you to help even if you’re not a direct match. Confidential screening takes only a few minutes.

Diane Ortiz.
Superior choice for Superior Court. As a 20 year veteran prosecutor, I couldn’t be more proud to support her.

I’m honored to have earned the endorsement of fellow prosecutor Quirina Orozco, who is not only a respected colleague but also a personal hero of mine.

In addition to being a prosecutor, she is also a powerful leader on the West Sacramento City Council, where she continues to be a strong voice for the community. I am grateful for her support in this campaign.

Vote Diane Ortiz for Judge June 2, 2026!
